Cello & Double Bass

Cellist Sarah Steeves has performed around the world in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, China, Germany, New Zealand, Peru, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Uruguay. She is a member of Sinfonia Toronto and the Ton Beau String Quartet. The Ton Beau String Quartet’s recording project, The Blackfish Project, was nominated for a Juno Award. As a certified Suzuki teacher, Sarah teaches cellists of all ages at the Classical Music Conservatory, Lippert Music Centre, and the Toronto Suzuki School. During the summer she has taught at the National Music Camp, Orchestra North Owen Sound, and the Mooredale Summer Music Camp. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Performance from the University of Toronto and a Master of Music in Performance from McGill University. She was also a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto. When she isn't playing the cello, Sarah enjoys hiking and kayaking, reading novels and watching figure skating.
