About Our Bursary Program

The Kiwanis Music Education Fund is providing bursaries for students looking for aid with the cost of music lessons or an instrument, giving them the opportunity to study with a qualified and experienced teacher in the Kitchener-Waterloo community.

Are you, or your child, a student who loves learning music, and wants to reach that next goal in your journey but can't afford to pay for private lessons? Are you a teacher who sees potential in a student, but are aware they may not have the financial resources to move forward or purchase an instrument? We want to help!

*Applicants must reside in the Waterloo Region to qualify for a bursary.

Application Deadlines:
September 1st, 2026 (Fall Term)
December 1st, 2026 (Winter Term)
March 1st, 2027 (Spring Term)

Bursaries will be awarded based on financial need and available funding at the time of the application. Recipients will be eligible to receive funding for 12 week terms, which may be renewed on an ongoing basis. Recipients may also recieve assistance with the purchase or rental of an instrument. Please refer to the Application Form for more details about the bursary program, including eligibility criterea.

How Can You Help?

Donate by Cheque:
Make cheques payable to "Kitchener-Waterloo Kiwanis Music Festival" and write "Kiwanis Music Lessons" on the memo line. A charitable tax receipt will be mailed to you.
