Jeff Reynolds has recently retired as Associate Professor, Teaching Stream, in Trumpet, Chamber Music,
Music Education and Conducting at the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto. Formerly Coordinator of
the Performance Division, he taught at the Faculty of Music for over 40 years, teaching instrumental
education, chamber music, jazz education, jazz history, applied trumpet and conducting. He also
conducted the Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble. He joined the Faculty of Music after a career as a
trumpet player with the Victoria Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Hamilton Philharmonic and the
orchestra of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet among others. Jeff adjudicates at festivals across Canada and
appears as a guest conductor and clinician. He has contributed articles to Canadian Winds, The
Recorder, The Journal of Aesthetic Education and is the author of the trumpet pedagogy book, Trumpet
for Dummies.
